Security Issues in Cooperative Networking

The network, where cooperation is employed to improve the reliability of communication or make better use of the network resources, can be referred to as cooperative network. Its normal operation relies on the cooperation among the entities and the assumption that all the entities are trustworthy and well-behaved. However, in a hostile environment there exist some malicious or dishonest entities, which may corrupt or interrupt the normal network operation; consequently the network performance will not be guaranteed. In this research, we aim to develop security mechanisms for cooperative networks in order to realize the reliable transmission and secure delivery.
