Biography

Ho Ting Cheng received his B.Eng. and M.Phil. degrees in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong, in 2003 and 2005, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2009. Since January 2010, he has been a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada. He received the Best Paper Award from IEEE Wireless Communications & Networking Conference (WCNC) 2010, Sydney, Australia. His current research interests include wireless mesh networking, vehicular networking and cognitive radio networking with an emphasis on multimedia service differentiation, service quality provisioning, cross-layer design, and performance optimization. His general research interests include distributed resource allocation, node cooperation, interference management, medium access control, packet scheduling, call admission control, game theory, and communication theory in wireless communication networks.

Dr. Cheng has been actively involved in professional activities. He was the System Administrator of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology from April 2008 to December 2009. He has served on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) as member in a number of international conferences including IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2011, IEEE International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems (ICUMT) 2010, IEEE International Workshop on Internet and Distributed Computing Systems (IDCS) 2010, IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC)-Fall 2010, International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC) 2010, Workshop on Cognitive Wireless Communications and Networking (CWCN) 2009, and IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2008. He has also served as a Technical Session Chair in various IEEE Conferences such as IEEE WCNC 2010, IEEE GLOBECOM 2009, and IEEE GLOBECOM 2008. Since May 2010, he has been serving on the Editorial Board of Journal of Computing and Applications (JCA) as Regional Editor.
