Welcome to my homepage
I am Tom, a fourth-year Ph.D student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. I am a member of Broadband Communication Research (BBCR) Group under the supervision of Prof. Xuemin (Sherman) Shen.
I received my Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2007, where I was associated with the Broadband Network Laboratory (BBN) under the supervision of Prof. Danny H.K. Tsang. My research in HKUST was on peer-to-peer live/on-demand video streaming, digital fountain codes and networking coding.
Research interests
Vehicular content dissemination and video streaming, proximity social network design, 802.11 MAC, peer-to-peer content distribution and live/on-demand video streaming, performance evaluation of wireless protocols.
