  • Dr. Rongxing Lu is an Assistant Professor at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

  • The paper "Bounds of Asymptotic Performance Limits of Social-Proximity Vehicular Networks" by N. Lu, T.H. Luan, M. Wang, X. Shen, and F. Bai will appear in IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, 2013.
  • Ning Lu received a student travel grant for IEEE WCNC 2013.
  • Xiaohui Liang received the prestigious Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad 2012. news
  • The paper titled "A Novel Low-Power Mixed-Mode Implementation of Weight Update in Particle PHD Filters" by Y. Liu, Z. Shi, K. Zhang, Y. Zheng, R. Lu, and X. Shen was honored with a Best Paper Award at the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference 2013 (WCNC'13). The conference was held at Shanghai, China, April 7-10, 2013.

  • Our work "SPOC: A Secure and Privacy-preserving Opportunistic Computing Framework for Mobile-Healthcare Emergency" was implemented and posted on the YouTube [Link1, Link2].

  • Several current and previous BBCR members had a wonderful gathering at Globecom'12, on Dec. 04, 2012, Anaheim, California, USA.
  • The paper titled "Performance Analysis of Cooperative ADHOC MAC for Vehicular Networks" by Sailesh Bharati and Professor Weihua Zhuang was honored with a Best Paper Award at the IEEE Global Communication Conference 2012 (Globecom'12), the annual flagship conference organized by the IEEE Communication Society. The conference was held at Anaheim, California, USA during December 03-07, 2012.
  • Prof. Shen hosted the WTC meeting at Globecom'12, on Dec. 05, 2012, Anaheim, California, USA.
  • Prof. Shen has been honored as a CAE (The Canadian Academy of Engineering) Fellow, since April 2012.
  • Rongxing Lu received the prestigious Governor General's Gold Medal this year!
  • Xiaohui Liang received the prestigious Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) 2012-2013.
  • The paper titled "Joint Channel Selection and Opportunistic Forwarding in Multi-hop Cognitive Radio Networks" by Y. Liu, L. X. Cai, and X. Shen was honored with a Best Paper Award at the IEEE Globecom 2011. The conference was held at Houston, Texas, USA, Dec. 5-9, 2011.
  • Hao Liang and Tom (Hao) Luan received the prestigious Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad 2011. See the news.
  • Prof. Shen met with three BBCR former PhD students Dr. Mursalin Akon, Dr. Yanfei Fan and Dr. Mohammad Towhidul Islam (from left to right) on Apr. 21st 2012. They are now working well in Silicon Valley.
  • Prof. Zhuang has been awarded a Fellow of EIC (Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada), since Jan. 2012.
